This is the space of Aiesha Turman; I work at the intersections of literature, history, art, cultural production, spirituality, and Afrofuturism. I am specifically invested in looking at how the past work of Black women and girls holds clues and keys that can help to unlock a more just future. I am the founder of The Black Girl Project, Super Hussy Media, a media-maker, educator, and space creator.
The name of this space, cipher, is about decoding, understanding, and making plain. It’s also about the circular energy, that flows through all things and makes new worlds.
